The great Himalayan freedom ride

Ride Royal Enfields through mountain passes, remote valleys and the wild roads of Bhutan.

The Journey

Bhutan on two wheels

For travellers who would rather take the long way. Ride a Royal Enfield across high mountain passes, through forested valleys, small towns and stretches of road where you may not see another vehicle for miles.

It is adventurous, exhilarating and at times unpredictable, with a very comfortable bed waiting at the end of the day.

The Thinking

Some roads are far too beautiful to waste in a car

Bhutan is made for riding. Beautiful scenery, excellent roads, not too much traffic, relaxed pace. The good stuff happens between Point A and Point B.

You ride a Royal Enfield, with a road captain, technician and support vehicle behind you. The logistics are all taken care of. You just ride.

What to expect

The road is only half the story

Ride hard, then slow down. Mountain passes and winding roads are mixed with monastery blessings, farmhouse lunches, village encounters and nights in places worth getting off the bike for.

Shaped Around You

Every journey is fully customisable and can be shaped around your interests, pace, preferences and the time you have available.

On this journey

Ride Bhutan by Royal Enfield
Cross mountain passes, forested valleys and small towns on a Royal Enfield, with a road captain, technician and support vehicle travelling with you.

Receive a blessing at Gangtey
Ride into Phobjikha Valley for a morning blessing at Gangtey Goemba, then spend the day exploring one of Bhutan’s most beautiful high altitude valleys.

Go beyond the main road
Pull off the highway for heritage homes, villages and local encounters, meeting the people who live in the places you would otherwise simply ride through.

Cross Bhutan’s great mountain passes
Ride over Dochula and Chelela, stopping for mountain views, tea and the distinctly Bhutanese tradition of hanging prayer flags high in the Himalayas.

Lunch at a Bhutanese farmstay
Step off the bike for lunch at a family run farmstay, with home cooked food and a glimpse into everyday village life in rural Bhutan.

Finish at the Tiger’s Nest
Leave the bike behind for Bhutan’s most famous climb, followed by a traditional hot stone bath and a final Bhutanese celebration in Paro.

Guest stories

In their own words

“I’ve ridden in a lot of places, but Bhutan was completely different. One minute you’re carving through a mountain pass, the next you’re sitting in a monastery receiving a blessing.”

James R.

United Arab Emirates

“The riding was incredible, but it was the stops that made the trip. Farmhouse lunches, small villages, tea at Chelela and people waving as we passed.”

Daniel M.

Australia

“I expected the roads to be the highlight. They were, but so was everything around them. You never felt like you were rushing through Bhutan just to get to the next hotel.”

Tom B.

United Kingdom

“By the end, the bike felt like the best possible way to have seen the country. You notice more, stop more often and somehow feel much closer to everything.”

Michael S.
