The Thinking

You may not need to change your life. You might just need some distance from it

Burnout does not always look like falling apart. Sometimes it looks like functioning perfectly well while feeling completely exhausted, confused or disillusioned underneath it.

From Burnout to Bhutan is designed for people who carry a lot. Leaders, founders, mothers, fathers, professionals and anyone accustomed to being needed, available and switched on, seemingly all the time.

Because time is often the one thing we have least of, this journey has deliberately been kept short. Eight days, with enough space to make a difference without requiring you to disappear from your life for weeks.

There is meditation, yoga, traditional healing and time in nature, but this is not about becoming a different person. It is about creating enough distance from the pressure to remember how you feel without it."

What to expect

Less noise. More space to think

The journey moves through Thimphu, Haa and Paro, balancing gentle activity with genuine downtime. Spend a morning with Buddhist nuns, meditate, practise yoga and experience Himalayan pink salt healing. Walk through quiet Haa, soak in a traditional hot stone bath, sit with a traditional doctor, have an astrology reading and make the climb to Tiger’s Nest. There are no packed days and no pressure to extract meaning from every moment. Some of the most valuable time may simply be the hours when nobody needs anything from you.

Shaped Around You

Every journey is fully customisable and can be shaped around your interests, pace, preferences and the time you have available.

On this journey

A morning with the nuns
Step away from Thimphu for meditation, yoga and Himalayan pink salt healing at a nunnery, followed by lunch with the women who live and practise there.

Disappear into Haa
Cross Chelela into one of Bhutan’s quieter valleys, walk through Haa town and end the day with a traditional hot stone bath and a bonfire beneath the mountains.

Sit down with a traditional doctor
Visit Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary for a consultation with a traditional doctor, followed by a spa treatment and an afternoon designed around restoration rather than productivity.

Let your hands do something different
Spend time making pottery, a simple change of pace that asks you to concentrate on something tangible instead of screens, meetings and decisions.

Look at things from another perspective
Meet an astrologer for a traditional Bhutanese reading. Whether you take it literally or simply enjoy the conversation, it offers a completely different way of thinking about where you are and what comes next.

Climb to Tiger’s Nest
Finish with the hike to Tiger’s Nest, followed by a hot stone bath, butter lamp lighting and the impermanence experience. A final day that brings together effort, reflection and release.

Guest stories

In their own words

“I arrived still answering emails in the car from the airport. By the third day I had stopped checking altogether. Haa was where I really felt the change. It was quiet, beautiful and there was absolutely nothing I needed to solve.”

Camille D.

Switzerland

“I run my own company and genuinely thought eight days was too long to be away. It turned out to be exactly right. Nothing about the trip felt like a corporate wellness retreat. I simply had room to think again.”

Rajiv M.

Kenya

“The morning at the nunnery was unexpectedly powerful. There was no big revelation, which I actually appreciated. I just remember sitting there after meditation and realising how tired I had been for a very long time.”

Helena F.

Portugal

“I came to Bhutan completely depleted. I left rested, but more importantly I left with perspective. The work was all still waiting for me when I got home. I just didn’t feel quite so controlled by it anymore.”
